Problems in Society

Mental self Destruction

Distract: social media, YouTube videos, Snapchat, Instagram, twitter. Media is a big distraction when it comes to the phone and the computer. Media is the reason why there is a division upon each community and the same reason why people commit suicide, the reason for media was to share to the world what your is life but instead many uses it for different types of uses like premium pornography only fans accounts on Snapchat, scamming, and identity theft.

Digital pleasure: pornography creates dopamine in the head of the user causing a lost since of reality communicating to the other sex. Furthermore, the other sex will most likely be weirded out or lost in the conversation. Even though people don’t go around talking about it, this creates sexual pleasures in the user’s head making it impossible for his or her partner to please them.

Develops social anxiety: phones make it hard to talk to people since everything is digital, they made an app called monkey and it’s used to just get an interaction and waste time.

Loss touch of reality: computers tend to create an illusion for the gamer that is playing the game, this also can create the ability of social anxiety, causing more people to become scared of interacting with the opposite sex or the same sex in general.

Comfortable in virtual reality: comfortability in virtual reality means you lost touch of reality, and this can lead to death in some cases because the user’s life revolves around his computer.

Social media plays a big factor in our life and the sad reality is that it plays a big factor in our lives in general. Furthermore, the media was supposed to be used to share with your close friends how your life is going and how you are living. however, media has taken a wrong turn, any time when someone passes away instead of at least showing expression to the sadness of this person’s death, users in media most times bash and create memes out of these dead people. Furthermore, media also creates social groups for every single kind of person, if you like to dress dark then you would gravitate towards the emo kids in societies eyes. However, little does society know that you can be the kindest person by heart but the perception of media fools many to believe that you are this type of person you are dressing yourself up to be. Finally, victims that suffer from mental health and suicidal problems and depression try to find someone to vent to on a personal level, however if they were to run to media many would tell them to kill themselves or for a mental person you are a retard all of these disgusting things that many people have to live with because they are slightly different from other people.

heavy social media and an increased risk for depression, anxiety, loneliness, self-harm, and even suicidal thoughts. Social media may promote negative experiences such as: Inadequacy about your life or appearance.

Digital pleasures can scoop to the very bottom, once the brain tolerates one thing enough it’s going to want to produce more dopamine, all of this leads to a confusion of many things. Pornographic addiction is not a joke, men, and women both have a problem with that needs to be resolved. back then many men and women would interact with people and would date them and would get to know each other through interaction. Sadly, society has made it to where it is okay to "rub one off " as many would say destroying the lives of many men and women, pornography was never a good introduction to society to begin with, the brain feeds off dopamine which satisfies the users view the adult film. Furthermore, pornography is the reason why many people are depressed, lonely, socially awkward, and socially anxious. Many do not understand the dangers of pornography, as a matter-of-fact society tries it's best to normalize pornography, there is even kids as young as 5 looking at these images, and it's also being introduced in social media so any kid can run into a sex advertisement just scrolling through YouTube.

A 2013 study "trusted Source found that among heterosexual male participants in couples, the use of pornography was associated with less sexual satisfaction" (Medical News. pg 7 - 13), while the opposite was true for the female participants.

Jesus created humans to interact with one another face to face. man and woman were created to procreate and be fruitful and multiply. However, phones were introduced in the world to keep communication from family members to friends who are furthest away from the user’s current location. Sadly, the use of apps like Tinder, Hinge, Bumble, and many more created weak-minded men who are only able to talk to girls on their phone and not in person. Girls also play victim in this because a lot of women do not have the confidence of being a woman as much as they used to back in the day, because they see another woman on twitter or snapchat and would want to be that woman because she can get the most attention wherever she wants too. Many men and women are suffering from just one simple thing problem, and that is face to face personal interactions with one another, reason why the world is what is.

According to research conducted by BMC Psychology in 2020, "swipe-based dating apps contribute to significantly higher levels of emotional distress, anxiety, and depression". (MayoClinic Articles. pg 23- 42)

Computers were made to further progress the user’s life in general, not to play games and waste time on adult sites, but to provide information for you to do things in the user’s daily life. We can say that many men and women suffer from social interactions because of apps on phones which disable the ability of the user to interact in person while gaining followers on a stupid app that's not going to mean anything when we get older. Furthermore, computers were used for users to create and invent many digital programs for customer users to use, but now fast forward to the current years we are living in computers produce the weirdest games for people to play. Listing a few examples, you have VR (virtual reality) games like hentai and sex dungeon games that people pay a lot of money just to play a sex game. Furthermore, there are also games that require you to play as much as 300,000 hours to grind to the best gear in the game just to make sure that other people see what you have in a virtual game. Finally, now many games are introducing the creation of having sex with furry animated creatures, these are things that create social awkwardness and anxiety for many users on the computer. Games were supposed to be created to calm your brain down and relax after a long day, but companies take advantage of the user causing many social problems for the user.

Twenty-two hours into a "24-hour-long marathon" video game session, "Twitch streamer Brian Vigneault, 35, got up to take a smoke break. He never returned to his computer" his fans, mainly fellow gamers who watched Vigneault play the online skirmisher “World of Tanks,” wondered if Vigneault had fallen asleep. (Washington Post. pg 23 - 32).

Americanized Culture

Introduction:

Guns have been a part of American culture for centuries, and they continue to be a contentious issue. While some believe that gun ownership is a fundamental right, others argue that the dangers of guns are too great to allow unlimited access. There is no doubt that guns pose a significant danger to society, with countless shootings occurring every year. In this essay, we will explore the problems with guns in the US and what can be done to resolve them.

Point:

One of the biggest problems with guns in the US is the number of deaths and injuries they cause. According to the Gun Violence Archive, there were over 43,000 incidents of gun violence in the US in 2020, resulting in over 19,000 deaths and 38,000 injuries. These numbers are shocking, and they illustrate the significant impact that guns have on American society.

Evidence:

The high number of deaths and injuries caused by guns is an issue that must be addressed. As President Joe Biden stated, "we can ban assault weapons and high-capacity magazines in this country once again" (Biden). This shows that even the President of the US recognizes the need for stricter gun laws to prevent the proliferation of guns that can cause mass shootings.

Explanation:

Guns pose a significant danger to society, and something must be done to address this issue. While some argue that the solution is to arm more people to deter attacks, this is not a practical or effective solution. The US already has more guns per capita than any other country in the world, and yet mass shootings continue to occur.

Point:

Another problem with guns in the US is that they are often used in domestic violence situations. According to the National Domestic Violence Hotline, firearms are the most commonly used weapon in domestic homicides, and women are 16 times more likely to be killed by a gun in the US than in other high-income countries.

Evidence:

The prevalence of guns in households only exacerbates the problem of domestic violence. As former Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords stated, "Dangerous people with guns are a threat to women" (Giffords). This highlights the need for policies that keep firearms out of the hands of those who pose a risk to themselves or others, particularly in cases of domestic violence.

Explanation:

Domestic violence is a serious issue in the US, and the prevalence of guns in households only exacerbates the problem. It is essential to implement policies that keep firearms out of the hands of those who pose a risk to themselves or others, particularly in cases of domestic violence.

Point:

Finally, the availability of guns in the US makes it easier for criminals to obtain them. This is because there are many loopholes in the current gun laws that allow people to purchase guns without a background check. This creates a situation where people with criminal backgrounds or mental health issues can easily obtain firearms.

Evidence:

According to a report by the Brady Campaign, 22% of gun sales in the US take place without a background check. This is because of loopholes in the law that allow private sellers to sell guns without conducting a background check. This means that people with criminal backgrounds or mental health issues can easily purchase firearms.

Explanation:

The availability of guns in the US makes it easier for criminals to obtain them, and this poses a significant danger to society. It is crucial to close the loopholes in the current gun laws and ensure that all gun sales are subject to a background check. As Shannon Watts, founder of Moms Demand Action, stated, "Background checks save lives. Period" (Watts).

Point:

Another issue with guns in the US is that they are often used in suicide attempts. According to the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention, more than half of all suicides in the US are committed with a firearm. In 2019, there were over 23,000 firearm suicides in the US. This is a significant concern, as access to a firearm increases the risk of a successful suicide attempt.

Evidence:

A study published in the New England Journal of Medicine found that states with higher rates of gun ownership had higher rates of firearm suicide. The study's authors concluded that "reducing firearm availability may prevent suicide."

Explanation:

The easy availability of firearms in the US contributes to the high number of firearm suicides. It is essential to ensure that those who are at risk of suicide do not have access to firearms, particularly during times of crisis.

Point:

One of the reasons why gun violence is so prevalent in the US is the lack of comprehensive data on the issue. In 1996, Congress passed the Dickey Amendment, which prohibited the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) from using funds to advocate for gun control. This has had a chilling effect on research into gun violence, making it more difficult to understand the scope of the problem.

Evidence:

A study published in the Journal of the American Medical Association found that the CDC's funding for firearm injury prevention research has declined by 96% since 1996. The study's authors argue that "political constraints have hindered progress in firearm injury research, and in turn, our ability to develop, implement, and evaluate evidence-based interventions."

Explanation:

The lack of comprehensive data on gun violence in the US makes it more difficult to develop effective policies to address the issue. It is crucial to remove political obstacles to research and provide funding for comprehensive studies on gun violence.

Point:

One of the reasons why gun control is such a contentious issue in the US is the interpretation of the Second Amendment. The amendment states that "the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed." While some interpret this as an absolute right to own any type of firearm, others argue that there should be reasonable restrictions on gun ownership.

Evidence:

In the landmark case District of Columbia v. Heller, the Supreme Court held that the Second Amendment protects an individual's right to own a firearm for self-defense. However, the Court also held that the right is not unlimited and that "prohibitions on the possession of firearms by felons and the mentally ill" and "laws forbidding the carrying of firearms in sensitive places such as schools and government buildings" are constitutional.

Explanation:

The interpretation of the Second Amendment is a complicated issue, and there is significant debate about what constitutes reasonable restrictions on gun ownership. However, there are some restrictions that are necessary to protect public safety.

Counter-argument:

Some argue that stricter gun laws will not prevent criminals from obtaining firearms. They argue that criminals will still find ways to acquire guns, regardless of the laws in place. However, this argument overlooks the fact that.

Conclusion:

In conclusion, the problems with guns in the US are multifaceted and require a comprehensive approach to address them. Stricter gun laws, including universal background checks, policies to keep firearms out of the hands of those at risk of suicide or domestic violence, and closing loopholes in the current laws, are essential. Additionally, comprehensive research into gun violence is necessary to better understand the scope of the problem and develop evidence-based interventions. Finally, a careful balance must be struck between protecting Second Amendment rights and ensuring public safety. As President Joe Biden stated in the wake of the Atlanta and Boulder shootings, "we can ban assault weapons and high-capacity magazines in this country once again. I got that done when I was a senator. It passed. It was the law for the longest time, and it brought down these mass killings. We should do it again."
